While in the process of moving late 2014 and setting up fencing on our new place in 2015, we’ve found that there were some unplanned visitations. So we are following 3 Jr mares with their pregnancies. We don’t know exactly when the came to be in foal, so are going by their body conditions and the development of their udders as to when they will foal. These are all maiden mares.
With the return of Kechi, we are now following 4 Jr mares – Ami, GG, Kechi and KoKo. Ami, GG & KoKo are due to Wizard. Kechi is due to Toro.
Will post their pics later today. I started sharing their photos on the 26th of Dec 2015 with the Lil’Beginnings MareStarers forum. These photos are current onward.
Wizard (Buckeye WCF Classical Wizard) is a heterozygous black, homozygous bay, homozygous tobiano stallion – Ee, AA, TT. All of his foals will be tobiano and will be bay if black based or chestnut carrying a bay gene.
Ami (SNS Exoticas Crowning Glory)is a double registered ASPC/AMHR mare and is the smallest we own (B-Mini). She is heterozygous for black, no bay gene and single silver – Ee,aa,nZ. This foal will be a tobiano and could be either a chestnut carrying a bay gene w/ a possibility of carrying a silver, a bay, or a silver bay.
Her pics from 2/06 and 2/27 (didn’t get both sides yesterday).
KoKo (LP KoKo Pagasus H) is a 41″ ASPC Foundation Certified mare. Like Ami, she is heterozygous for black, no bay gene and single silver – Ee,aa,nZ. This foal will be a tobiano and could be either a chestnut carrying a bay gene w/ a possibility of carrying a silver gene, a bay, or a silver bay. Koko is a green driver as a single to a cart and has worked as a pair while “logging”. She is starting to develop an udder, so we should see a foal in the next 4-8 weeks…
GG (LP Painted Silver Toy H) is a 42″ ASPC Foundation Certified mare. She is a silver tobiano – Ee, aa, nZ, Tt. This foal will be a tobiano – either bay, silver bay or a chestnut w/ bay gene + possible silver gene. GG is green as a single driving pony and works very well as a pair with her dam. She is also starting to develop an udder, so we should be seeing a foal in the next 4 – 8 weeks.
Kechi (LP Jewels Kechara H)- a 40″ cremello mare returned home and appears to be bred to Toro (LP Painted Toro). She is a cremello with a bay gene – ee, Aa, CrCr. Toro has not been color tested and is a bay tobiano – E?, Aa, T?. We know that this foal could be a buckskin or a palomino carrying a bay gene or no bay at all – e?, ??, nCr, ?t. Her belly is nicely rounded, but no udder development yet.
